A tilting disc check valve is a type of check valve that uses a disc to prevent backflow. The disc is mounted on a spindle and is free to rotate on a hinge. When fluid flows in the forward direction, the disc is lifted off its seat by the pressure of the fluid. When the flow stops or reverses, the disc tilts and seals against the seat, preventing backflow.
